Spring Synergy: Research Day

2020 Spring Synergy

March 25-27, 2020

Each year UFCD hosts Spring Synergy on the UF Academic Health Center campus, which includes research presentations, academic speakers and a vendor fair. Spring Synergy is sponsored by the College of Dentistry’s Office of Research, Continuing Education and the American Student Dental Association. Spring Synergy promotes the college’s many accomplishments, and provides a venue to interact with the campus community, alumni and industry.

Spring Synergy 2019

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

In light of UF’s guidance surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease), we have modified our annual Spring Synergy event in the following ways to best protect our college and community:

  • All scheduled events related to the Kaplan lecture are postponed until further notice.
  • The keynote presentation, research poster session and oral presentations are postponed; we are working to determine the best alterative times and venues for these aspects of Spring Synergy and will update the college as soon as we can.
  • We will move forward with judging of the posters and will bestow awards on the top posters based on the scientific merit of the abstracts – as was done last year. Award recipients will be announced at the end of March.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause but we hope that everyone understands the need to move forward as a team, making decisions thoughtfully and responsibility as we focus on our core missions of education, patient care and research.

The UF College of Dentistry Office of Research is currently accepting abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations at Spring Synergy March 27. In the oral and poster sessions, only the DMD, MS-Grad/Residents and PhD/Post-doc divisions may compete for prizes.

Applicants can submit for either an oral or poster presentation in the following areas of interest:

  • Educational Research
  • Clinical Research
  • Basic Research

Individuals in any of the following divisions may submit abstracts:

  • Pre-Dental/Undergraduate Students
  • Current DMD Student
  • MS-Graduate/Residents
  • PhD Students/Post-Doc
  • Faculty/Staff

** A total of 12 presenters will be selected for the oral presentation competition. Those accepted are notified on or before Wednesday, March 18. Applicants not selected for the oral competition may then opt to present a poster. **

All UFCD faculty, staff and students may submit applications for the poster event. Presenters are required to remain next to their poster for the entire session in order to answer questions and explain their research. A minimum of three posters, based on the quality and content of the abstract, will receive an award and recognition for excellence.
