Dr. Frank CatalanottoDr. Frank Catalanotto received two awards: the first one is a $15,000 award for seven months, from Morehouse School of Medicine/Kellogg FTND titled Options and opportunities to address oral health workforce needs in Georgia, Florida and Mississippi”. 

The second award, totaling $840,221 for three years is titled Evaluating Florida’s oral health needs and workforce capacity” HRSA T12HP27541.


Christina L. Graves received $77,500 for two years.  Her project is titled “The role of intestinal immunity in type 1 diabetes initiation and progression”.  NIH/NIDDK F31DK104492


Dr. Brian Bainbridge received $125,000 for two years. The project is titled, “Recognition of  periodontal bacteria by lipopolysaccharide binding protein”, NIH/NIDCR R03DE025065


November 2014 – January 2015

Dr. Mary Ellen DaveyDr. Mary Ellen Davey, in the department of Oral Biology, received $174,4586 from the University of Idaho NIH/NIDCR R21DE023924, for a 2 year project titled: “Identification of mrna targets of small regulatory rnas in p. gingivalis” .  Dr. Davey also received $1,875,000 for five years for a project titled “L-arg availability affects the physiological state of porphyromonas gingivalis”.


Dr. Wellington RodyDr. Wellington Rody, in the department of Orthodontics, received $35,933 from the University of Missouri AM Association of Ortho Ftdn, for a 1 year project titled: “Biomedical, development and genetic determinates for rate of orthodontic tooth movement in humans”.
