2022 Hinman Student Research Symposium

On Friday, October 28 through Sunday, October 30, 2022, Ariyana Shetty and Thomas Koby-Hercsky represented the UF College of Dentistry at the Hinman Student Research Symposium in Memphis, Tennessee, sponsored by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry.

Ariyana is a first-year DMD student mentored by Jeannine Brady and Elena Yarmola in Oral Biology. She presented “Exploring extracellular DNA and amyloid location within Streptococcus mutans biofilms,” authored by herself and her mentors.

Thomas Koby-Hercsky is also a first-year DMD student, mentored by Mateus Rocha in Restorative Dental Sciences/Biomaterials. He presented “Algorithm development to predict degree of conversion of resin-based composites,” authored by himself, his mentor, and Dayane Oliveira. Congratulations to Thomas, who was awarded the “Most Outstanding Presentation in Clinical Research” by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry, during the Hinman Student Research Symposium.
