Carson Smith, DMD Class of 2022, Blake Crosby, DMD Class of 2021, and Kyu Lee, DMD Class of 2017 and predoctoral fellow in oral biology, showcased their research strengths during the AADR/IADR/CADR General Session at the end of June in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Smith, who also serves as president of his class, was one of just nine presenters from the North America Region to compete in the AADR Hatton Competition on June 18. He presented his research, “Characterization of Gamma-Glutamyltransferase 6, a Novel Notch Signaling Pathway Partner,” where he placed second, allowing him to advance and compete in the international competition.
Crosby, who won the 2018 UFCD Spring Synergy Dentsply/SCADA Award to earn his trip to Vancouver this summer, for his project, “DNA Methylation Changes in Localized Aggressive Periodontitis.” He placed third in the Dentsply/SCADA Competition on June 19.
Lee took third place in the IADR’s Three Minute Thesis competition at #IADR2019.
