Student Spotlight – Aria Sharma

Aria

Aria Sharma is a native of McLean, Virginia. She attended Barnard College, graduating with a degree in Biology, prior to moving to the sunshine state for dental school.

Her interest in research stems from two summers spent in the Summer Internship Program at the NIH, assisting with research on ectodermal dysplasia and hyper IgM syndrome, followed by a summer spent at the Uniformed University of Health Sciences working in a diabetes lab. She has continued her research here at UFCD under the mentorship of Drs. Papp and Toth in the Department of Oral Biology, working on projects related to KHSV.

Outside of her academic and research work, Aria serves as the  Vice-President of Student Leadership, Class of 2019; UF chapter of the American Student Dental Association, tutoring for Histology, Developmental Biology, Physiology, and Fixed Prosthodontics, and TA for Fixed Prosthodontics I and Preclinical Endodontics.

We applaud Aria for her diligence and contributions to UF’s College of Dentistry.  An exemplar of true Gator spirit!
