Spring Synergy-Celebration of Science Scheduled for April 4th

The Spring Synergy – Celebration of Science will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014. Spring Synergy will be held at Emerson Alumni Hall located at 1938 W. University Ave.

We are pleased to invite faculty, post-docs, DMD students, graduate students, residents, undergraduate students, and staff to participate in program activities. This will be an opportunity to showcase the college’s ongoing research and foster interactions among faculty, fellows and students.  In addition, The American Association of Dental Research Student Research Group Florida Section [AADR SRG FL] will be sponsoring two prizes for the poster competition.  In order to qualify, you must be an AADR SRG FL section member in good standing.

There will also be a Student Periodontology Case Competition chosen by a panel of Periodontology Faculty. If you are interested in this competition please contact Dr. Peter Harrison: pharrison@dental.ufl.edu

The application deadline is Friday, March 14, 2014.

Awards for Poster/Oral Presentations by Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, Residents, and DMD Students
Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and dental students who are currently conducting research within the College of Dentistry are eligible to compete for awards in the poster or oral presentation category in their respective divisions, as listed below.   Finalists in the Oral Presentation Category will not be eligible for an award in the Poster Presentation Category and vice versa.

I.     Poster or Oral presentation by a DMD student
II.    Poster or Oral presentation by an MS/Resident
III.   Poster or Oral presentation by a PhD/Post-doc

IV.  American Association of Dental Research Student Research Group Florida Section [AADR SRG FL]

V. Periodontology case reports, Dr. Peter Harrison: pharrison@dental.ufl.edu

Oral presentations for DMD/Residents and PhD/Post-Doc will compete for a first prize of $250 and a second place prize of $100.

Poster Presentations for MS/Resident, PhD/Post-Doc and DMD students will compete for a first prize of $150 and a second place prize of $75.

Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, Residents, and DMD Students who would like to compete for these awards must complete the application. Please be sure to fill out the form completely. The abstract title, authors and body must be typed in Times New Roman 12pt font. You can copy and paste your abstract into the form, but please be sure that all special characters, italicized words, or bold characters show up correctly before submitting the form. When your form is complete, save the file and email it to DN-Office-of-Research@ad.ufl.edu. The application deadline is Friday, March 14, 2014.

All submitted abstracts will be included in an event program.
